This position will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and has direct responsibility for L&D, Post-Partum, & Newborn Nursery. Will work in collaboration and give oversight to the Neonatal Nurse Manager for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Will also work in concert with the other Nursing Directors. Provides administrative direction for development and evaluation of all nursing personnel, and maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services. Contributes to nursing and the hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational and research efforts. Accountable to assure that HCAPS, patient, employee, and physicians satisfaction scores are all in acceptable ranges and improving. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
A. 24/7 management responsibility for the L&D, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery. With the opening of the new service, the MCH Director will be responsible to function at the bedside, educate and oversee the competencies of the staff members.
B. Able to write Policies & Procedures in concert with Title-22 requirements, DHS and CCS requirements.
C. Has personnel, fiscal and material management, and coordination of development and quality improvement program.
D. Assure that the highest quality nursing care is delivered to the patient in the most cost effective manner by the entire nursing team. Complete nurse assignments, taking into consideration the Patient Classification Acuity, Title-22 Mandates, nurse competencies, and special needs of patient or family.
E. Assists the multi-disciplinary team to return the patient to a state of optimal wellness or to a state in which the highest quality of life can be maintained.
F. Collaborates with all members of the health care delivery team, nursing leadership, and senior management to deliver quality health care in an efficient, cost effective manner.
G. Attends Bed Meeting as directed and communicates patient flow needs with the CNO, Bed Control, and/or Administrative Supervisor.

Requirements

B. Education: Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing or equivalent. BSN & Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management/MBA required.
C. License, Certification, or Registration required: Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support & Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.

Cath Lab RN
Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Manager / Designee, the Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac intervention upon admission to the department. Cath Lab RN
Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Manager / Designee, the Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac intervention upon admission to the department. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care. The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory supports the medical care of all patients requiring any cardiac or peripheral intervention under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This individual maintains a complete Intraoperative record and is responsible for the patient during the pre-operative, intra-operative and immediate post operative period. RN- Quality Management
The RN-Quality Management is responsible for oversight of the hospital Performance Improvement program throughout the hospital through the use of interdisciplinary measurement, analysis and actions to improve services. Radiology Nurse
The Radiology Nurse is directly accountable to the Interventional Radiology Supervisor and works under the direction of the Radiologists. The Interventional Radiology Nurse is accountable to the Supervisor of Interventional Radiology and the hospital nursing policies in respect to the general and technical operations of that department. The nurse's purpose is to assist and support the patient so that imaging procedures can be performed in a safe and efficient manner. To accomplish this, the Interventional Radiology Nurse is required to assist in all aspects of the procedure except for the use of radiation producing equipment. The Imaging Supervisor is responsible for providing the nurse with appropriate orientation and training in the radiation safety aspects of the imaging equipment they must work with. The Interventional Radiology Nurse is also responsible for the maintenance and security of the Medical Imaging Department's medication supply, monitoring of patients receiving conscious sedation, and keeping appropriate medical records relating to patient care. The Interventional Radiology Nurse will provide all imaging personnel with in-service education and training relating to patient care and patient care devices. The Interventional Radiology Nurse will actively communicate with physicians, nursing units, and family members concerning the patient's well-being, exam status and care, and will perform appropriate patient teaching as needed. The Interventional Radiology Nurse will actively communicate, cooperate with, and assist other nurses. The Interventional Radiology Nurse's patient care skills are directly overseen by the radiologists and are subject to the policies and procedures of the hospital nursing service. Responsible on-call participation is required for this position.
